Thank you for being here again and reading my weekly blog! My name is Brechje Gondrie, founder of All-time Favorites and I take you every week in my adventure to make All-time Favorites the big bag brand in the Netherlands. This week I will tell you what happens if you tell me that something is not possible ....
Every summer you see them again; the wicker beach baskets. I always think that looks really nice, really summery. Also Brigit Bardot French-like. I mean the ordinary wicker baskets without fuss, which you can buy at any French or Spanish market. It looks nice, but they are often not that practical, especially when you travel. But anyway, the eye wants something too! You also see them often with a nice colored star on it and last summer they were suddenly painted with your initials on it.
Then I thought it would be nice to make a wicker ATF shopper. But yeah. ATF stands for beautiful AND practical. So I got stuck very quickly. Because developing a practical wicker shopper turned out to be impossible. I had problems with zippers and the pink lining couldn't actually go in well either. So my manufacturer said, "put it out of your mind, a wicker ATF shopper can't."
Why not? Can't lies in the cemetery and won't lie next to it! When I have something in my head and it looks like it won't work out, it almost becomes an obsession. My parents taught me that anything is possible, as long as you practice and persevere. Well .. I knew that, also this time!
What if we put a wicker basket under a copier and then have it printed on canvas? Then I can make a "look-a-like" ATF wicker shopper! And we will ensure that a wicker shopper can be practical. Because this wicker shopper can simply be folded and closed with a zipper. (Did you see the video on Facebook yesterday?) You can easily take it with you when you travel. Also as hand luggage.
The first version was a bit dull with just that wicker print. So I started thinking about what else I could add to make that bag look a bit crazy, just like all the other ATF shoppers. Pompoms! And of course in my favorite pink color. But the bag wasn't finished yet. Then I saw a nice basket in a baby room on Pinterest. And then I knew! I'm also going to put a text on the bag! And here is the result! The ATF wicker "basket" with matching toiletry bag. I am completely happy with the result. Now of course I want to know again what you think!
HEAT ME! I really want to know. Love, Brechje
